Can’t say I feel like it is an attractive face. However, it definitely comes across as being a bit higher end. Like a Buick Enclave or Chrysler 300 compared to a top end Traverse or Charger. Not anything worth a second thought but you know it’s a nicer car that someone got a deal on. Like a car you glance at outside and you just know that even the absolute base model is well equipped. So kudos on that success. I would say it does look higher end than the new Hyundai Tucson (which is a better looking car, but does come across as cheaper).

The Macan-ness doesn’t come across. It looks extremely Sportage-y and that kills off most of the design grabs. Those three dot center lights make a world of difference to the look when illuminated.

It’s so ugly. It looks higher end, yes, but it also looks like a Subaru B9 Tribeca thing going on.

The Sportage is the only car Kia makes right now that I’m not really a fan of looks-wise. It just looks a bit, off. However, if I was ever in the market for a midsize CUV (which, for the record, if I ever am, please shoot me), my first stop would still be the Kia dealer.

It’s funny because the Juke, Cherokee, and Cactus all would look the same if headlamp positions were switched. I say funny because it must be a design direction that never officially trends.

I have to say in those cases too, even though I can’t call any of those good looking, they all come across as being well equipped (except the Juke, which is also seems low rent). It’s like looking at the outside of a car and knowing the inside won’t disappoint.

Wait to see one on the road. I had the same feelings but on road, good reaction. I think this new design direction relies on being viewed as if you are taller than the focus point. Have a look at the new Cadenza (K7) and you’ll see what I mean.

Looks good at a glance, but if you focus on the blank portion between headlamps and quad-LEDs, it begins to look really cheap (especially the grill) and off.

Is it bad if I say that I like it in some sort of twisted way? When I first saw it I knew I would hate it but now it’s growing on me...

Kinja'd!!!

In any way, it looks better than this lopsided thing from the early 2000s...
